I found the content of this poster interesting. This is the first time I’ve seen the work of Richmond Artist Elizabeth Childress, and it vaguely reminded me of the illustration work of Frans Boukas. So I called Frans and asked his opinion. Frans loves mushrooms and he also pointed out that the morphing dog heads are a reference to a Slayer t-shirt he has from the Clash of the Titans tour. I had the privilege of printing these beautiful posters for Frank and Nate before they left for this short tour. For those of you unfamiliar with Eliza Childress’s work, she’s been actively (which seems like a fierce understatement) providing flier and poster art for local shows for the last few years. This poster is so dense and complex, I still find new things when I look at it. I only wish we’d had enough time to play with multiple colors, but regardless, this poster is a beast.
