Another poster by Sasha Barr. No he doesn’t live here, but I think he’s a favorite of someone in Souvenir’s Young America because this was one of several things he designed for them. This poster seems to summarize this type of music in a way some of the others he did failed to. These bands play instrumental music that is at once dreamy and beautiful, and also dark and chilling, all in their own ways.

This show feels like ages ago. If I remember correctly it was the first show for Planar after regrouping, Gregor Samsa’s last show with their original bass player, and Kayo Dot’s first show in Richmond. I could be making it all up though. Another mostly instrumental show with another great poster by Seattle’s Sasha Barr.

Japan’s instrumental powerhouse Mono has graced our city more than once, but this time it yielded this beautiful poster by gig poster mastermind Sasha Barr. It was a night of beautiful music where not much was said, but words weren’t all that important anyway.
